Orange County Datacenter

Our state-of-the-art, government owned , datacenter located in (orange county) at the border of Santa Ana and Irvine, CA boasts fully redundant power, Internet access, and unsurpassed security services, and offers plenty of scalable space for our customers' growth needs. Our data center is designed to maximize our clients' uptime.

  Network Features:
Simra Hosting's network access is built on four major elements. These are Fiber Carriers, Upstream Providers, Backbone Connectivity, and the Core Network housed in the data center. The Core Network is a redundant switched Ethernet architecture providing Ethernet, FastEthernet, and Fast EtherChannel connectivity.

Key features of our network include:

  • Diverse connectivity through multiple tier-1 providers. Simra Hosting's backbone carriers include PacBell/SBC, Time/Warner, and COX.
  • Typical backbone circuits: DS3 (45 mbps), OC3 (155 mbps), OC12 (620 mbps), OC48 (2.48 gbps)
  • Direct peering with One Wilshire in Los Angeles.
  • Engineered to greater than 3X-10X peak burst-able loads
  • Fully meshed routing and switched architecture

  Power
We offer a premier power system designed to provide continuous, redundant, and protected AC or DC power to our clients. Built to N+1 redundancy, our datacenter has built unique power features into our data centers. These features protect against brownouts, blackouts, power spikes, and other electrical events.

Features of our power infrastructure include:

  • The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) delivers clean, consistent power. Our UPS is comprised of rectifiers, inverters, and batteries and is designed to maintain constant power to all equipment in the datacenter, regardless of power source.
  • The automatic transfer switch (ATS) senses any significant interruption of regular power from the electric company. Once an interruption is detected, the ATS activates the generator to feed power to the UPS.
  • The generator is housed on the premises and is used when any significant interruption of regular power from the electric company is detected. The datacenter has 12,500 gallons of diesel fuel on reserve and in the event of an emergency; the County facility is given priority status on re-fueling. The facility has enough power to conduct business as usual for one week without a direct feed from Southern California Edison, which just right across the street

  Environmental Controls
Our Santa Ana / Irvine datacenter has deployed a flexible and redundant HVAC design that supports the cooling load required. The HVAC system maintains optimum temperature (65°F +/-2°F) and humidity levels. The air is also filtered continuously for contaminants. Our datacenter employs such strict standards to protect our clients' equipment from excess wear and tear. This reduces the amount of client resources needed for maintenance of overheated equipment, server replacement/upgrade downtime, and equipment cleaning.

  Physical Security
We have designed a comprehensive access and security policy for protecting all systems. These policies protect our clients from unnecessary downtime because of sabotage, unauthorized personnel accessing equipment, or unfortunate mishaps, such as tripping over wires and accidentally bumping servers.

Key features of our datacenter's unmatched security system include:

  • Onsite security personnel 24x7x365
  • Onsite Network Operations Center (NOC), which monitors all of data center for external and internal security
  • The Datacener has 360° surveillance cameras to patrol exterior and interior perimeters. These 30 cameras secure interior and exterior entrances and common areas. Cameras are both exposed and hidden to insure complete coverage. Camera locations are never disclosed to personnel or visitors. Exterior microwaves identify movement and deter potential vandalism and set off notification alarms with the Operations Center.
  • Combination access card and photo identification system required to gain access to facility.
  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for each client to ensure only authorized personnel has physical access to colocation space.
